The University of SydneyPage 7What is Culture ?–Culture is an illusive concept–It is difficult to be seen or touched–It can only be felt and sensed–Culture is the system of shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, which members of the society or organization use to cope with their world and with one another–Culture is the pattern of basic assumptions that a given group has invented, discovered, or developed in learning to cope with its problems of external adaptation and internal integration, and that have worked well enough to be considered valid, and, thereforeto be taught to new members as the correct way to perceive, think, and feel in relation to those problems
